OUR MISSION

Swell Folk Foundation is a RHODE ISLAND BASED 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting Providence through music, art, and community experiences. As the organizing force behind the Swell Folk Festival, the foundation carries forward the belief that music has the power to bring our city together - creating space for families, friends, and neighbors to connect, discover, and celebrate the arts.

Andrew is responsible for swell operations. An east-side resident, he lives with his wife and daughter near hope street and is an avid patron of the communities small businesses & events.

MIKE CAPUANO

ARTIST LEAD

MIKE IS A RHODE ISLAND NATIVE, lifelong MUSICIAN, and a friendly face you’ll find at myrtle on  any given friday night. as artist lead, mike brings his talent and taste to help shape our music program.

SHAWN SOMMER

COMMUNITY LEAD

shawn is a long-time providence resident, former dj, and collector of over 2,000 records. shawn’s passion for community events will help deliver a festival that reflects our community’s values.

JULIANA AMIN

VOLUNTEER LEAD

Jules is a Rhode Island native who returned to HOME After a decade working on electoral campaigns nationwide. TODAY she runs a leadership development firm for progressive organizations and runs the swell volunteer program. off the clock, she’s cooking, with her cats Sabrina and Vito, or spoiling family.
